INTRODUCING THE BHENDI BAZAAR
Secreted away high above the bustling streets of Covent Garden is London’s newest secret drinking and dining den, Bhendi Bazaar, where renowned chef, Vivek Singh, takes you on a clandestine culinary adventure.
Created in collaboration with The East India Company London Dry Gin and Franklin & Sons and seating just 12, Bhendi Bazaar offers Vivek’s deliciously differently, subtly spiced dishes and cut-above cocktails.
Leave the bustling cold streets of London behind and be transported to the magical city of Mumbai and its Bhendi Bazaar, once described by the British as ‘Behind the Bazaar’ due to its tucked away location north of the city’s Crawford market.
Wind your way up the narrow staircase to the top floor of Cinnamon Bazaar and escape to this louche bordello-style room strewn with candles and complete with antique day beds, low tables and pink drapes for a magical dining experience.
The Bhendi Bazaar thali menu features a selection of unique dishes, created exclusively for the pop-up. For just £30 per person, the eight-course feast plus naan, raita and chutneys, includes beautifully presented dishes such as traditional Bengali-style holiday lamb curry; Punjabi chicken butter masal; Alleppey shrimp curry with green mango, crispy fried cod Amritsari and simmered black dal Makhani. An exclusively vegetarian thali feast is also available with vibrant dishes like Jaipur okra curry, Punjabi vegetable samosa and Mughlai mushroom curry to name a few.
Three bespoke cocktails have also been created specifically for Bhendi Bazaar. The signature serve is an intoxicating East India Gin cocktail infused with hemp and Franklin & Sons natural Indian tonic water with other cocktails including the Snake Charmer and The Lady of the Bazaar.
The Bhendi Bazaar pop-up is ideal for intimate Christmas parties and suppers, but individual tables are available. For December only (lunch and dinner): catch it while you can. Reservations: just drop us a call on 02073951400 and quote: Bhendi Bazaar
